DESIGUAL brand story
The Spanish brand Desigual was founded in 1984 by the Swiss Thomas Meyer in Barcelona. However, the idea behind the brand began even before its official founding, when Meyer designed his first jacket called the “Iconic Jacket” from several cut-up pairs of jeans.
In 1886, the first Desigual shop opened in Ibiza. The logo, a naked man and a naked woman holding each other in their arms, quickly gained attention. In 2009, Desigual finally came to Germany. Today, there are 36 shops and 233 employees in Germany alone.
Since then, the brand has been on a steady upward trend. In 2011, Desigual began working with designer Christian Lacroix and in the following years established interesting collaborations with Snoopy, Adidas, Bols and Disney. There are now Desigual stores in 107 countries. Two collections are released each year.
